The on site machining specialists, Reekie Machining, recently became the 500th local business in Renfrewshire to sign up for a scheme aimed at boosting the local economy. David Reekie, Operations Director was pleased with the support and explained how the money will improve Reekie’s Metrology Services, “Our business development grant will help pay for a co-ordinate measuring machine, which will allow us to make more accurate measurements of machine parts. Invest in Renfrewshire is a really good scheme – it helped us make the decision to invest in this machinery, as we may not have gone for it without the funding.” Invest in Renfrewshire was started in 2012 and is aimed at boosting business and tackling unemployment.
